UCC Office of Communication Inc – webdesign, email campaigns, and administrative support to the civil rights organization that started the media reform movement. Helping with social media support, and faith-based organizing materials.
Penn Action – Ran a statewide GOTV email campaign, recruiting 86 volunteers in 9 days via email. Organized statewide conference of natural gas drilling activists, bringing over a hundred organizations to the table in under a month.
Friends Rehabilitation Program – Event coordinator for groundbreaking of an affordable housing project. Drew largest crowd of the year for the City’s housing office, covered by two primetime nightly news broadcasts and community newspaper.
Media and Democracy Coalition
National Field Director, Nov. 2008 – June 2010
Coordinated national network of political organizations in campaigns directed at Congress, the FCC, the Department of Commerce, and state and local governments. Developed and wrote dozens of communications materials for use by various stakeholders, including an advocacy training manual, opeds, blog posts, press releases, social media copy, and more. Project managed four grants to regional partners, one of which resulted in a $17.8 million federal grant to the city of Philadelphia to solve the digital divide.
SEIU PA State Council, MoveOn
Statewide Campaign Manager, 2007 and 2008
Wrote and executed field and communications plan to achieve legislative goals in the PA State House and US Senate. Brought together diverse coalitions of political, labor, and faith groups; organized a 110-person townhall that got broadcast TV and grassroots media coverage, and spoke at the state Capitol for a 90,000-member union.
